Being a Professional Wedding Planner

OMG!! I'm getting married!!! He proposed..I said YES!!

After jumping up & down, crying & making what feels like a MILLION phone calls to girlfriends..what does she do next? First, thing this newly engaged woman does is HIT the magazine stands, pulling articles from the internet, looking for new trends & ideas. She has hit the ground running & she is hitting it hard. The wedding industry has changed so much over the years tht it be hard now to find a quality vendor.

Brides-to-be are checking the facts & not being sold on FLUFF! As, a PROFESSIONAL wedding planner I love it when I stand out from the hobbists who are just doing this fun or who have watched a few shows & swear tht they have what it takes to make a person's dream wedding into a reality. This is a blood & sweat industry. Wedding planning is NOT for the faint of heart or easliy bullied. You have to be able to stand firm & get the best offer for your client. Sometimes you have to put your client in check to keep her from becoming this overrated, over tired, overwhelmed bride. Getting married is a wonderful thing & a beautiful experience. Brides make sure that you do your homework & ensure that your hiring a professional wedding planner & that any vendor for tht matter is a professional & not just "uncle jeff" who is giving you a great deal or a freebie. Remember , you get one day to make it magical & the way that you have always dreamed it to be.

Professionals, make sure tht you stand out as the professional & not be afraid to place your business on the map & educate your bride as to why you charge what you do. Educate yourself of what your "competition" is charging & find out what makes you different or a better choice for your target market. No matter if your the professional or the bride-to-be, be sure to do your homework & make it a wonderful experience.
